Our Story

First I would like to welcome you to Wood Lake Doodles and thank you for looking at our website. 


Now let me introduce myself, my name is Andrea.  I  have been married to my best friend Keith for almost 20 years, he is and always has been my biggest supporter.  

We moved our family to North Carolina in 2006 from Long Island, New York.  We have two children,  Dominick and Kayla.  We have really loved the laid back southern lifestyle. It truly is a great place to raise a family. For fun we enjoy camping together. Cruising is our all time favorite vacation. Keith and the kids enjoy the outdoors including hunting, fishing, and four wheeling. I love to craft, shop and spending time with my dogs(of course).

Keith had a Golden Retriever growing up, Mack was a big part of his childhood.  Growing up my family always had at least one dog and at times up to four. Of course, when we got married and moved into our first home...we got a dog!  A Golden Retriever, his name was Duke. He showed us unconditional love of a best friend, gentleness and joy for 15 years!  We never thought we would love or even want another dog. Then came our next, an English Cream Golden Retriever, Timber. And our next, A GOLDENDOODLE, Jack! Of course we love the temperament of the Golden Retriever.  But goodness gracious when we got Jack he stole my heart with his loving heart and his big personality!  We are now up to four dogs.  We also have a bunny, two birds and chickens.

Being a business owner was always a dream of mine, I just did not know it was going to be breeding dogs.  But, I knew when we got Jack that I wanted to breed Goldendoodles. 

In 2019, we had our first litter, I researched and had wonderful mentors and friends to help me along the way with that first litter.  My husband and I both were working full time, but worked together as a team to ensure those nine little bundles got the love, attention, socialization, nutrition and care the needed.  Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, I was relieved of my full-time job giving me the time to make this business my first priority.


Program Overview

As breeders our goal is to provide families with healthy well tempered puppies that will bring joy for many years. 

Wood Lake Doodles will take the time to understand what you are looking for and help you acheive that with us. We will do so by being available for communication and being open and honest with you.  Besides, you need to trust us as much as you trust any other member of your family.  We get that!

The dogs in our breeding program are family dogs they are not raised in kennels.  Our moms need a rest, they will only be bred once per year.  That limits the number of litters per year to one per mom. But it is essential to keep moms healthy enough to have healthy litters throughout her breeding lifetime.  Quality over quantity. Our puppies are raised inside our home with love and care.  They are well socialized and receive limited training before they go to fur-ever homes. The time and attention our puppies receive sets us apart from other breeders.  We want our puppies to be ready to become part of your family as soon as they leave us. That being said, we are here to help you throughout the lifetime of your fur baby.  Our owners are a part of the Wood Lake Doodle family just as much as our puppies.  We welcome updated pictures and posts on our in our Facebook Group. What is a GOLDENDOODLE?

They are the perfect adorable mix of the Golden Retriever and Poodle. Goldendoodles are the ultimate combination of good looks, smart wits, and playfullness. They are extremely social, protective, people pleasing and full of personality, gentleness and affection.  Goldendoodles are family friendly, energetic, athletic, and have a little to non shedding coat.  The hybrid is known as a "designer breed" because they were bred to have the lovable qualities of both of the breeds. Though they are primarily bred as companion dogs, Goldendoodles have been successfully trained as therapy dogs, guide dogs and other forms of assistance dogs. It is important to keep that in mind though, because they are a mix, it is hard to know how much of each parent they will inherit.

We had a fantastic experience at Wood Lake Doodles! Andrea welcomed us with open arms, she answered all of our questions and allowed us ample opportunity to get to know Chunk before we brought him home.


Wood Lake Doodles is an amazing puppy experience.  We truly enjoyed the personal touch, preparations prior to picking her up, and how clean and perfect our puppy was. There were also tons of photos and updates from Woodlake that made the excitement and transition to our home a smooth one. The owner, Andrea, pays close attention to detail and we were impressed when she gave us all the information for Bella, along with ideas and food choices for her.  Bella did not have any problems with her health as she was great after her first vet appointment. 
When we travel out of town, our Bella stays with Andrea, her family, and the other dogs that Bella has grown to love.  This is certainly a bonus for us as we can't always take her with us. Bella recently celebrated her first birthday in their home. Andrea had a birthday hat and celebrated Bella that day.  We loved the photos and the kind gesture. Bella always enjoys her stay at Wood Lake Doodles.

We would highly recommend Wood Lake Doodles to anyone looking for a Goldendoodle puppy!
